When I stopped in to visit my grandma yesterday, I noticed that there was an empty perfume bottle sitting on her kitchen counter. I recognized the empty perfume bottle as being her favorite scent and couldn’t help but wonder why she’d left it sitting on the counter as opposed to tossing it in the trash. When I asked her about it, she said that she’d left the perfume bottle on the counter so that she’d remember to ask either me or mom to order her a new bottle, and when you get her age if you don’t either write a note or leave a reminder, that you forget these things. I couldn’t help but smile at her, and asked if she wanted me to take the perfume bottle when I left so that I could order her some new perfume. She was thrilled that I offered and tried to give me some money. I told her I’d let her know how much it costs next time I visit, but the truth is, I have no intention of letting her pay for it. She’s done so much for me over the years, that I think the least I can do is get her the perfume.
